GENERAL LPG SAFETY GUIDELINES
Always use approved LPG cylinders, regulators, hoses, and burners
Purchase gas accessories only from trusted and certified suppliers
Never tamper with or modify gas equipment
Keep gas installations away from heat sources and open flames
Ensure good ventilation in kitchens and generator areas
GAS CYLINDER SAFETY
Always keep cylinders upright — never lay them on their side
Do not expose cylinders to direct sunlight or high heat
Store cylinders in a cool, well-ventilated area
Do not store cylinders near electrical switches or flammable materials
Check the cylinder body regularly for rust, dents, or damage
Never attempt to repair or refill damaged cylinders
REGULATOR & VALVE SAFETY
Use the correct regulator size for your cylinder (e.g., 12.5kg, 6kg, 3kg)
Ensure the regulator fits tightly and securely
Do not force a regulator onto a valve
Replace faulty or leaking regulators immediately
Always turn off the regulator after use
GAS HOSE & HOSE CLIP SAFETY
Use only approved rubber gas hoses
Avoid long or stretched hoses
Secure hose connections firmly with hose clips
Keep hoses away from sharp edges, heat, or flames
Replace hoses every 12–24 months, or earlier if cracked or brittle
GAS COOKER & BURNER SAFETY
Ensure cookers are placed on a stable, flat surface
Keep flammable items away from burners
Never leave cooking gas unattended while in use
Clean burners regularly to prevent blockage
Use mould or cast burners designed for LPG
GAS LEAK SAFETY – VERY IMPORTANT
- If you suspect a gas leak:
- Do NOT light matches or switch on electrical appliances
- Turn off the gas regulator immediately
- Open all doors and windows
- Move the cylinder outdoors if safe to do so
- Do not use the gas again until the issue is fixed
- Contact a qualified technician or gas supplier
- Never test for leaks with fire
- Use soapy water to check for bubbles around connections
TRANSPORTATION SAFETY
Transport cylinders upright and well-secured
Do not transport cylinders inside enclosed vehicles
Ensure valves are tightly closed during transportation
INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
Use trained professionals for gas installations
Regularly inspect all gas accessories
Replace worn or damaged parts immediately
Do not allow unqualified persons to fix gas equipment
CHILD SAFETY
Keep children away from gas cylinders and burners
Do not allow children to operate gas appliances
Store gas accessories out of children’s reach
